It looks like a mother coming to hug you, so it fits for a mothership.

834 polys

1664 tris

Nice lighting, Humma — is that Blender/Cycles?

I'm just a dude with Fraps and too much spare time.

BTW, if anyone wants to email me a ship model or two at quill18@towerdive.com, even if not finalized, I'll see if I can start fiddling with how we might want to space section to feel like.  I'll try to make a few different version like with the roguelike grid vs gridless examples and we can see what we think.

.blend contains all 3 ships .obj has individual ships,

https://rapidshare.com/files/4201615826/ships.zip

I think that is 3DS Max not Blender.

Hi quill18!

I heard fromyour podcast that you need spaceships.

Can I upload you my 3dsmax 9 models? or as you mentioned blender is a must?

Unity should be able to support 3ds max perfectly fine.

That being said, I'm not sure how many *space ships* we need at this time.

Unless we want to give up on the roguelike component and make a space sim or 4x game or something.

If u don't need ships i can do other sci-fi models: cars, buildings, spaceships, space fighters,  spacestations, monsters,  even cybertron like planets. all except people (i lack experience doing faces).

I have a big sci-fi arsenal. both low and high poly. how about this building? for example?

or this destroyer:

or my own version of a future disc world

This might be useful for a start off point for your ground adventure.

I'm having a hard time seeing it on my monitor — is it a space ship?

I was thinking a 1 or 2 seat shuttle/scout craft.

take 2 on the renders, hopefully they turn out better

but then that kills the whole idea of building your own spaceship…:o

maybe that could be a start off point if you send your scout ship that is in your main spaceship down to the surface…whiel it mines or explores or something…:o

but think on the lines of bigger spaceships…:D

but it looks like a boss scout…:o

I'll have to get back into modeling..I made a dude but when I tried to animate him it failed in the sence that when I modeled him he was soooo poorl made in certain areas…and I didn't extend his arms…I am ognna practice on other things…maybe make a stick man and try it without hands first…and stick his arms pointing out…:D…and more polyies at the joints…

but I my most serious attempt will be of that concept art smite made…it looked awesome….>.<…

but I need more time..and I need to get in the mood…but spaceships…those are easy…;P…(If anyone made some kind of drawing or something…there was talk about importing spore creatures?…lol…make somethign liek that and I will try…but don't make it have ten faces and 100 legs…somethign simple…:o…drawing..idk…desender drew up some but I am talking basic…like zergling basic…something that is made up is preety easy compared to a human…which everyone sees everyday…

make pictures…so i can steal your ideas…I mean…try to make them useable…:p…

I don't know what I'm talking about. :o
